Halloween Makeup;
Hey Daintys,
For this look you will need; - White Face Paint
- Black Face Paint
- Black Eyeliner
- Foundation/Powder
-Brush and Sponge
- Blusher
- Lipstick
This look took a long while and meant that as stated in the other skeleton look the colours often blended which got pretty stressful at times. I Started by Filling in the black mouth and lines, this allowed me to build them up and then fill in similarly to the other skeleton look above. This took a lot more paint (no were near as much as you would think) and it took a lot more time, this allowed me to shade better and create the illusion of a spine/neck and shoulder bones. This looked much better when I added in the spine/neck as originally I was just going to have the face section. I may do a video on this look or if I can find the footage of the original attempt from a live video Ill pop it here. I think this look is super self-explanatory but if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
So its that time of year again, when the ghosts and ghouls
come out to play. I decided this year I wasn’t doing anything myself on
Halloween but I couldn’t resist doing a couple Halloween looks. I did 4 in
total all very basic as I've never really attempted any Halloween makeup.
First up; THE Split Skull
This one is super basic and I was hoping to do this one on
myself unfortunately I only had time to do it on my younger sister and I have a
tight schedule beyond Halloween L This look is super easy and can be done basic
or detailed.
For this look you will need; - White Face Paint
- Black Face Paint
- Black Eyeliner
- Foundation/Powder
-Brush and Sponge

For this look I drew a basic black line down the centre of
the face, on one side I did a natural, and just powdered the face. The opposite
side I decided to draw in most of the key Black Detailing. I started with the
nose and the main line of the mouth *Please be aware the face paint goes grey
in patched when using the white* I made the line solid and doubled some of it
over with the eyeliner. I then filled in the black eye; I then drew in some of
the fine cracks and doubled the paint up to make it solid black. I then began
to fill in the rest of the face with the white face paint, this however was
tricky as it began to turn the black edges slightly grey, I decided to then
layer up the white and use the grey as shading. This worked in my favour but
also meant I really had to layer the black. I finished by drawing in the black
line for teeth which kept going grey, however using the eyeliner it worked
better and I blended the white into the grey to make in more 3 dimensional.
This is a basic look and I would love to try it again to make it neater and
more clean cut.
Second Look is; Broken Doll
This one again is basic and again I wished I had time to do
this one on myself, this one is easily done and can be done to suit a childlike
below or you can really detail it and make it realistic.
- Black Face Paint
- Black Eyeliner
- Foundation/Powder
-Brush and Sponge
- Blusher
- Lipstick
This look is super easy; I started with base makeup so I did
foundation, Blusher and eyebrows. (No she never normally has makeup on) The
eyebrows I did solid and made them stand out a bit more ‘staged’ so to speak,
the blush I found a bright pink blush and using a brush rubbed it in a circular
motion, this created a typical Ragdoll/Porcelain Doll look. I then proceeded to
draw in cracks and shattered effect using black face paint and eyeliner (This
needed improvement but 5 year old don’t sit that long) I shaded areas to make
the cracks more dimensional using the white face paint. I also added in the
lines below the mouth more typical of a puppet but often seen in other Doll
looks. Finally I added in the freckles using eyeliner and the red pursed lips,
drawn over the lip line.
This look is super easy but could have been improved
massively, the use of the shattered effect could be made realistic and used in
a much more effective way, but for a 5 year old it works.
Next Look; The Skeleton
This look needs patience and it took a long while, this look
I did on myself as I would have never been able to get my sister to sit for
over an hour. This look is not clean cut and I hope to do this one again later
on the year as practice, as I really liked the outcome just felt it need a lot
more tidying up.

The Final Look is: Zipper Face
This one was a pain in the arse and took me ages! I haven’t
used SFX makeup before, so when I did this first attempt you can imagine my
frustration when the zipper didn’t want to stick.
For this look you will need; - Zipper
-Spirt gum
-Liquid Latex
-Fake Blood
- Black Face Paint
- Foundation
-Brush and Sponge

This look took and extremely long time, I started with a
bare face, I then proceeded to do my foundation but wiped of the bit where the
zipper was, and the mouth area. I began by using the spirt gum to stick the
zipper… this however did not go to plan and it kept peeling, I ended up using
the liquid latex and tissue paper. Once the zipper was in place I began placing
liquid latex down the sides of the zipper, on the cheeks and in the central
mouth bit, I let this dry and covered where needed with foundation to match the
skin tone, once dried I used a spoolie brush to pull bits away and make it look
like holes, splits and peeling skin. In patches I dripped the fake blood and
additionally added dark face paint to look like bruising and rotten/dried
blood. The bullet/hole in the head was premade wounds which I attached with
liquid latex I think this could have been improved and blended better however
after the long length of time it took I decided it want worth me getting mad
over. I added in the dark black eyes with eyeshadow and then the three blood
scratches on the forehead. This can be
optional as well as can the wound and other holes. I would like to do this look
again on someone else and not myself as not only was It a pain to do it was a
pain to take off. I would not recommend for a Halloween night out as you can’t
just wipe it off after a few drinks and get in bed!
Well that’s all for the Halloween looks, sorry I’m no MUA. I
hope to try some of these again and make improvements. What Halloween looks
have you done? Or which one of these is your favourite? Tweet me Pictures
